Using Pareto's principle, we can safely say that 80% of the people would only use 20% of the features in Microsoft Office.
Re: New version of Google Apps offers less expensive alternative to Microsoft Office.
All the rest of the features are using the extra memory and extra hard drive space, and taking away the extra cash from your bank account and putting it in Microsoft' bank account. For 80% of the users the extra expense of the extra features in Microsoft Office are not needed and are the equivalent of having your thermostat set in the house at High all the time, even when you are not there. They invented the programable thermostat to save on your energy cost. Google has invented the apps to save on you IT cost.
