I bet having a computer reassign account numbers, transferring the funds to those accounts, and creating and then mailing a 2x3" piece of plastic with a mag-stripe is a budget buster for sure!

As if they'd ever willingly disclose if one of their precious employees made off with sensitive client data.
I'm sure that the costly reissuance was just the excuse needed for an opportunity to sell additional 'fraud protection' banking services to all their customers. I'd like to know how much the banking industry profited by this.
