Cisco's big announcement at Networkers this year is its so-called Data Center 3.0, which focuses on virtualization and IT automation.
It will take Cisco two years to flesh out Data Center 3.0 and it began the process today by rolling out a raft of products - see the details in this story by Network World's Jim Duffy. Call me a wizened hack, but what is new in this announcement that we haven't heard already from HP, IBM, heck, even Sun and Microsoft? How significant is this? Will you be buying into Cisco Data Center 3.0?
I'll be interested to see data center guru and current Author Expert blogger Doug Alger's take on Data Center 3.0.
