Oh boy! Another merger acquisition that deludes the market with promises that look wonderful on Powerpoint, yet fail to meet the objectives of the customer; that is unless they are looking to increase costs and complexity. IT Mgrs have grown much wiser since the dot com bubble burst.
When a company has neither the patience nor ability to holistically develop a comprehensive solution, it is expected that they will go on an acquisition binge that only gives the illusion of an end-to-end portfolio, yet leaves the end-user with question marks concerning the long term viability of their investments. Is it no wonder that open source has been embraced.
Check out an organization that swims against the tide of increasing IT costs and complexity as they have patiently developed a seamless portfolio(since 1994) that delights their customers well after the sale, rather than leaving them with buyers remorse that increases with their annually recurring costs.
