As a network admininistrator
As a network admininistrator for a medium sized county government (Southern Midwest locale)I feel very fortunate to have a great job in the IT industry. Do i make anywhere near $76,200? Absolutely not. However, i believe that make a fair wage in this area. If i was willing to drive another 30 minutes i could start in the mid $60K's. My job offers individual health care coverage, but does not extend this to family members. We receive comp time for any overages at the rate of 1 hour=1.5 comp. Vacation time starts at two weeks with another week added at 5 and then again at 15.
I've had jobs that payed better, but required long drive times and tyrannical bosses. In the end i just felt unhappy and searched out a better opportunity.
