Cisco's Strategy Makes Sense...
At first glance, Cisco's strategy is similar to every other mesh wireless vendor's strategy: Focus on applications (public safety, mobile government) and deemphasize free public broadband.
However, Cisco is the networking industry's giant. And their ability to build strong partnerships with application providers and mobile device makers will propel the municipal broadband market forward, I believe.
