RE: Windows update glitch stumps Microsoft sleuths

Hard to keep the story straight. Microsoft knowingly updated machines, when users had auto-updating features turned off. Then Microsoft also unknowingly patched machines when auto-updating features were turned off? There is now an auto-patching glitch, according to this article. The article says: "The issue arose after this month’s Patch Tuesday when users began reporting patches were installed automatically and their systems rebooted even though they had specifically disabled automatic installation. The glitch was first reported by the Web site AeroXperience, which said users had their machines rebooted automatically at 3 a.m. the day following the patch download."
Microsoft has not earned itself an abundance of trust for the public to give it the benefit of the doubt over this so-called glitch.
