Both sides, please
Yes, most users don't have clue, don't care and they shouldn't (IMHO). Corporate data is corporate data, period. And that's where I see the discrepancy, mixing two totally different views, each trying to control each other, keep them separate. It can be done, has been done before, this is nothing new if you look the problem not just some technicalities coming out with new technology. First ( and last ), authenticate, authorize and audit the endpoint, it is the user NOT the device. Don't let the corporate information out of your realm meaning a controlled environment even in mobile, can be done! Don't fight evident, control it not by technical tools and toys even they are needed and important but having a plan! See if it is cost effective, risks, etc. And remember,no one tool or even one vendor toy can do all that, this is a diverse world, it is up to you. Don't buy hype, research and test, stay ahead. And so on, this is old.. ps. And if you CxO comes out from a marketing / sales meeting telling you that they have they greatest toy which will solve all your problems, run!!
