Cisco vs Juniper (Marketing?)

0

Judging by your commentary there, it would seem more like a marketing message than an actual technical argument.

Both are actually very good, both have their markets and strengths and weaknesses. So rather than coming out with blanket statements about one being better than another (which shows remarkable myopia there, much akin to marketing) one needs to understand the underlying business plan and network topology before making any decision.

My suggestion would be to employ some consultant who is hopefully bright enough to have experience in both, and be able to talk intelligently about both.

Otherwise, no matter which way you go, you'll make some sales team very happy because of the quick, snappy, and not-always-correct decisions about who is the "best" around.

Scott

PS. When Juniper sales dweebs are putting things in at 90% off list price, to a point where Cisco isn't going to compete, it's kinda hard to point the "dirty politics" finger around too much. :)
(The market is what it is, and everyone does things at certain points depending on what their strategy is, so get off it)
