New Voice over Internet Options

Despite the bad news from certain consumer Voice over IP vendors (Vonage), the business world continues to extend the technology, says "VoIP apps branching out." As new phone systems add more features, the prices continue to drop. Even better, small businesses can get the benefit of huge Voice over IP systems by using a hosted VoIP service.

I'm looking for better cell phone integration into modern small business phone systems. Call forwarding used to be complicated, but now a few clicks on a Web application handles that chore for you. Even better, you can set your office phone and cell phone to both ring so you don't have to remember to switch back and forth. Since people tend to carry their cell phones constantly, this method usually works better than providing special wireless handsets for their office phones.

For younger employees, integrating texting from cell phones and office Instant Messaging will solve many of their communication skills. Many college students text about as fast as they talk. Those are the ones swimming in the potential employee pool, waiting around for you to hire them.
