RE: Remote database connectivity across a WAN

What am I missing. Is the database accessed via Citrix? Or is the database accessed 'naturally'? If via Citrix, all changes would take place at the central site? If 'naturally', what's the impact of the 'syncing' to a pipe that's already full with what one has to assume Citrix traffic. Is this a case or bandwidth mgt versus more bandwidth? Sorry if this is a tangent, but there is insufficient input.
