I think a little homework is in order here...
Last I checked, the iPhone ran on MacOS X and that in turn was based on OPEN SOURCE software. Certainly, the GUI is propietary, but the OS itself is open. Ever heard of Open Darwin?
And if you think that ANY American cell phone provider will allow ANY non "approved" applications to run on their phones regardless of the operating system, then I'd like to have some of what you're smoking cause it must be good.
