With the Google-Doubleclick merger looming many sites are looking closely at Doubleclick and Google’s Ad networks for behavior shifts or causes for alarm. Well they found a huge cause for alarm on November 7th AVG.com noticed that while using n MLB.com and NFL.com Doubleclick ad calls were being made to infective banner ad that hijacked the user from the originating site to the advertiser’s messaging.
Google’s Adsense users as well as Doubleclick users should be alarmed by this. This ad call is bad for the web sites that are serving the ads, taking their audience away to the advertiser’s message with no way back as well as the worst possible user experience.
