Note that in the article, it was SFP+ components that were causing the stir. SFP+ provides the best port density available right now, and Force10 doesn't currently ship a product with SFP+ ports. Why would you spend $8.5K on a Force10 chassis and then pay over $2K per port when you can do it with a top-of-rack switch for $400/port?
