Provision Networks, which was acquired two weeks ago by Quest Software, offers a solution that allows for the delivery of desktops and applications from Terminal Services, virtual desktops, and physical PC's.
Centralization of desktop functionality in the datacenter has been something that IT departments have wanted to get back ever since the industry migrated away from mainframes, and today, the Virutal Access Suite from Quest can enable that functionality from the appropriate computing platform.
Not all applications are suited to this environment, but by adding virtual desktops and physical PC's as delivery platforms to the existing Terminal Services, many more organizations can now centralize desktop functionality.
