Competence Certification
The mere idea of "Certifications" remind me of the Straw Man in the movie The Wizard of Oz -- he wanted some kind of intellectual legitimacy.
In this case we have an industry and people promoting the same concept for "technical legitimaacy".
IMHO, zen in on such things as skill, competence, experience, and other similar factors -- I think even entertaining the idea of certifications is a total waste of time.
If you really want to develop a productive organization, use the Activity Vector Analysis (AVA) -- and NO SUBSTITUTES! Have highly skilled psychologists trained in this methodology perform the assessments from start to finish.
Use the AVA as a condition of employment. Interview nobody before having them undergo this 20 minute exercise.
Have your children do this after their freshman year in college.
