Senator Kerry is tackling the tough problems: Getting the NFL Network on all carriers

Thank God for U.S. Senators taking on the tough problems facing the nation. High oil prices? No. Hunger? No. The skyrocketing price of healthcare? No, again. We're talking a MAJOR issue: The NFL Network not being available to two-thirds of cable subscribers.

Thankfully, Senator John F. Kerry (D - Mass) is not letting this travesty continue. He's sent a letter to National Football League Commissioner Roger Goodell and President and CEO of National Cable & Telecommunications Association Kyle McSlarrow begging them to put aside their differences and get the NFL Network on every TV in the land. This is of utmost importance for Kerry and his constituents here in the great state of Massachusetts, since the New England Patriots final game of the regular season is scheduled for the NFL Network, meaning many might not be able to see it. (Not sure if Kerry knows that game can be seen on a local broadcast channel as well, but why let details get in the way.)

If Kerry showed this kind of resolve in 2004, he could have sent his letter in an envelope with a return address of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

[If my snark is not enough, a few of the comments on Mike Reiss' blog post are priceless. Plus, if you're a Pats fan, Reiss' blog is a must read.]
