Yes, it is another spin
Nothing new here except a new term for one implementation of an age old technique. Because of bandwidth we have used a similar implementation 10+ years in wireless connections. The way it was done only (logical) edges had to know the protocol. Works perfectly except bundling differently authorized and encrypted messages need some special handling when bundled. So, this is just one implementation and really doesn't say anything how to handle other layers, it should.
