Eating its own dog food is Cisco, which is implementing Data Center 3.0 - its next-generation data center strategy launched in July that focuses on virtualization - in its own data centers. Its VFrame virtualization appliance will be implemented in new Cisco data centers, says Jayshree Ullal, Cisco senior vice president of the Data Center, Switching and Services Group. Cisco took three years to fill out its Data Center 3.0 strategy and Ullal says it will take customers the same amount of time to fully adopt it. That's because customers may be comfortable with current products and operational methods, she says. Is Data Center 3.0 in your future?
