Young workers not to blame for IT retention problems

0

Ah, the good old days when I was 28 and moved from job to job because I didn't like the boss. Then around 35 years old things changed. Every where I went to work started closing down or getting bought out. I had to move to Florida or scramble and find a job here in Arkansas. I been through six jobs in 10 years. I've been at my current job for six years. Now I'm 46 years old and trying to update my skill set to Java and C# from the mainframe COBOl and CICS. Wow, what a difference that is between the two environments. I have discovered the hard way that it is best to find one job and try to keep it for as long as you can. But I have also discovered that trying to stay one step ahead and looking for the next jobs seems to work also until you start getting older.
