Why XP must be saved

0

Vista, like Office 2007, moves "power users" into the status of "temporary neophytes". But, unlike true neophytes who may not know what can be accomplished, power users are faced with the frustration of knowing "what" can be accomplished but not "where" Microsoft elected to move (may I say "hide") the needed feature or function. Three months after moving to Office 2007, I still have to contemplate how to accomplish too many functions thanks to Microsoft's re-organization of Word, Powerpoint and Excel.

My hat's off to Microsoft. Not only do they thrive despite annually wasting millions of hours of users' otherwise productive time through poorly architected and even more poorly implemented software, but their wholesale changes to user interfaces in Office 2007 and Vista are compounding the waste.

Forget about the performance and functional failings of Vista; my view is that Companies can justify remaining with XP simply to maintain current levels of employee productivity!
