Strained premise?

0

Hey - first off, wanted to let you know that Pam (see above comment) and I both work for NetQoS and I'm the editor of NetworkPerformanceDaily.com. Didn't want anyone out there to think that we were trying to sneak some self promotion by as coming from an uninterested party.

But, speaking of self-promotion, the other thing is that we wrote about Untraceable at NPD.

Honestly? I'm worried that the premise is... strained. I can get how someone can evade authorities if they wish, but not how they can simultaneously evade authorities while having a high-profile/high-bandwidth LIVE Web site.

My big problem with it is that it's another "Be afraid of what you don't understand" movies. It plays into a culture of fear which seeks to get people to shun things out of instinct than investigate them and make a rational determination. I'm ticked off at the CSI-style formula of finding a misunderstood sub-group, and misunderstanding them more in order to create fear - or in theatrical terms, "tension."

I know, I know, it's "just a movie."
