I don't see were Comcast is

0

I don't see were Comcast is a small mom & pop outfit like that one guy keeps commenting about. that sounds like a personal problem to me. Also what he does supplying satellite service to businesses is a lot different than providing & selling 5-6Mb consumer connections. One other note to that guy- you put a link to your business in the forum? Advertising? The anonyoumus guy may be smarter than you since now we all know who you are and where you work. Not real smart especially the way you slammed that guy back. Don't know allot about the Internet nowadays do he.

They are blocking P2P traffic because everyone thinks all P2P traffic is illegal. Well it's not all used for illegal downloads. I'll bet even with a fancy L7 device you can't tell the difference between someone downloading music illegally and someone downloading large files from a business using a P2P protocol. It's the old guns don't kill people saying. P2p is not illegal it's what you use it for that may be illegal.

When they block all the P2P traffic and they still don't have enough bandwidth what traffic will they go after next.

You know http, ftp, sql, plus many other protocols can all be used for illegal purposes so when will they start to block those. I know some hackers use Google to as a hacking tool so let's block Google then too.

Hmmm so let's say TV is like an Internet connection it's superbowl Sunday and so many people are watching the game and there is not enough bandwidth to go around so let's block everybody that's watching a TV show we don't like or think we can get away with blocking because enough people won't complain about it or they are too stupid to know what's going on.

I think the government should look into it.

I have some friends & c0_workers who have internet through Charter cable and they are paying for 5+ Mb connections and when they notice it's going slow they test to find they are only getting .5 Mb so they call the cable co and within minutes they go back up to 3-5 Mb. Hmmmm. seems like they are trying to cut corners and services to conserve on bandwidth and just hoping the home users are stupid and don't notice or realize what's going on.

High speed Internet access is looked at by home users the same as cable or satellite TV they are paying for 5Mb of bandwidth why can't I use the 5Mb of bandwidth. I can watch TV all day why can't I download stuff off the internet all day. Bandwidth to homes is the wave of the future to supply entertainment and information. With IPTV, music & movie downloads etc... etc... etc... consumers today require more and more bandwidth as the Internet offers more and more High bandwidth applications and entertainment and they expect to be able to use it whenever however and for as long and as much as they want. If the ISP can't support their customer base without cutting people off then I'm with the other guy, they are oversubscribed just like AOL was years ago and it took the government to step in to correct it and make AOL get off their butts and fix the issue.
