NAC Market, Lockdown and Just 2 Major Players
Lockdown's ills could just be down to the VCs getting cold feet in the current economic climate, as to lack of its progress within the NAC space.
Must also agree that NAC is NOT the simplistic view expressed by another contributor "Around just to fix Microsoft's problems". It is there to aid IT administrator's better safeguard their diverse networks, to guard against the unexpected [as instanced in an earlier comment], to check each machine when it connects (and afterwards whilst connected) and to use the intelligence gained to YES fix issues at time of connection and protect all concerned.
Its also about ensuring against "Rogue" devices getting network connectivity, especially at subsidiary, unsupervised locations, or out-lying offices where there is no IT presence to safeguard users locally.
But most of all it is to get User machines SAFELY connected and doing their jobs, safe in the knowledge that all protection software etc. is working to optimum levels.
