Cisco's Plan
As I understand it, Cisco simply wants to be the company that provides networking solutions from the top to the bottom. They didn't want to put Linksys "out of business" as a competitor, rather, they simply wanted to enter that sector of the market by buying the industry leader in that sector. Also, I don't see them firing all of the Linksys engineers and replacing them with Cisco engineers, so the product line shouldn't change all that much. I predict that you may eventually see Cisco branded wireless smartphones/PDA's...
