Linksys gigabit router bests the competition

What this article from PC World doesn't mention is that this review was part of a bigger test of four routers and that the Linksys bested the competitors. Overall, PC World gave the Linksys Wireless-N Gigabit Router WRT310N a 83. A similar class router from Belkin earned a 73; from Netgear a 70 and from D-Link a 61However the test was run in a 1400-square-foot house. That may be a mansion in expensive Silicon Valley but it is fairly small for many areas of the country (the Western states, the South). And this could be an issue for the kind of consumer in those areas that want a home gigabit router since, unlike the Netgear router, the Linksys one doesn't support wireless range extension.
