Day 71
Went to the interview this morning with a nearby County Government IT department. Sat down with the department manager and then was joined by three people in the department. Was asked questions by all of them in a round-robin format.
The position is not as "hands on" as I am used to but that isnt anything that I couldnt make the adjustment to. The interview went for a little over an hour and then came to a close.
I seem to have been the first person they talked to, since I was told there were others that they were going to interview and that would take about two weeks to get done. At that time, they will make a decision who to bring in for a second interview.
Got called by the HR person from a transportation logistics firm. They wanted to do a phone screen today or tomorrow. Called her back and arranged a time for later today to do the phone screen.
Sarah Anderson at Balancepoint emailed me to let me know that my resume had made it past the HR person at the local utility and was in front of the hiring manager for the position. She advised me that this company is very methodical in the hiring process, so things will move slowly, very slowly. Will put this in the active list until I hear otherwise.
John Triggs from Genesis 10 called to let me know that all candidates for the position they were representing me for had been rejected. John told me this wasn't a reflection on me as they had not been told anything
specfically mentioning me. He isn't expecting any further activity on this position.
Got called by the HR person at the transportation logistics firm at the time we had agreed to. We talked about my overall job experience and about the firm I have applied to. She then asked a series of questions.
Several of them were very vague and seemed to be oriented at management experience that I don't have. She will make her recommendations by close of business tomorrow. With the way the questioning went, don't expect to be called in for an interview.
Found 3 positions on Careerbuilder and applied for them.
