Imagine Cup 2008 is LIVE

A colleague of mine (my boss) at Convergent Computing, Rand Morimoto, is the head judge for the 2008 Imagine Cup competition. His 4th year running.  He’ll be blogging live from the competition with regular round the clock updates. As he mentioned to me today,

The Imagine Cup is a UNESCO-endorsed / Microsoft sponsored worldwide competition for college students to complete in 1 of 9 disciplines in the technology field.  We started off with over 100,000 competitors representing over 100 countries, and we’re down to the final 500 in the world competing to be crowned the best of the best in the world.

The Imagine Cup is a GREAT way to recognize the global impact of IT and acknowledge some of the top young minds in the field. Many of the finalists have used the Imagine Cup as a springboard to successful careers that would have been otherwise unavailable to them. It’s a great event and one I support wholeheartedly.

Best of luck Rand and Chris!!
