Well done on this account at least, Microsoft!
Microsoft is at least doing this right, as shown by the uptake of SharePoint. And as proven in the past, theyare excellent in extendeing / shoring up functionality and capabilities. I expect SharePoint to become one of the most important tools of MS in again extending it's reach.
As regards the user who created a headache for IT - that just shows how easy it is to create things relevant to the business with SharePoint. It is IT that urgently needs to grow up and get ahead of the curve instead of behind.
