More on metadata
It is critical that metadata support be included in any intended video extension to HTML. And, included in that rich metadata solution we need geolocation data... not as an afterthought but with forethought and clear intent to create something for the future... It is important that it will not be overcome by events day after any proposed new standard is released. I agree that there is a need for an open standard. But, we need to get this one right. Perhaps Apple could be convinced to open source Quicktime. They don't seem to be developing it much anymore...
