LAN Cluelessness Continues
Most outages are a result of unexpected traffic spikes and conflicts. This is because IT managers continue to believe the BS they're told by vendors. "Our equipment is the most fault-tolerant, highest capacity, fail-over tested...blah, blah, blah! The quality of technology is relative and entirely predicated on "use of the technology." 3 people innocently streaming various content can bring a 1,000+ person network to a stand still. Until management starts to examine their policies, internal controls and network uptime from the standpoint of user activity, they'll continue to be great prospects for Cisco who'll fork-lift them into more and more expensive gear...without a real need. People are managing their operations. They're covering their indolence with faster technology.
