Not really....in april 07 they announced application visibility using a combination of IDP (an IPS) and ScreenOS (a stateful FW) - only available in the ISG 1000 and 2000. The application visibility is done priarily in IDP - and it sees only a small number of applications and only on their standard ports. It is by no means an apples to apples comparison.
