What a crock

Your article sounds like it was written more by a spin-doctor than a reporter. And of course the effects are minimal, unless you are one of the ITers who have lost their job.

There is still not enough information around to know the real impact, and I believe it will not be measured accurately for years. Companies may be saving money in the short term, but the loss of business knowledge and expertise, as well as reduction in internal support will indirectly impact their ability to support their customers in the same manner as previously. This will lead to more customer satisfaction and eventual loss of business as well.
