Local city resources available
Another useful resource I found in my neighborhood was a local city resource: the Troy Career Center, in Troy, Michigan. If there is something like this in your city, make sure you check out what kinds of services they have to offer, often free. The TCC I went to had free classes for resume writing and interview skills, CD-based MS Office courses, a good-sized library of job hunting books, Internet access, as well as no charge printing and copying. It also gives you a place to go during the day to get out of the house for awhile, but still be engaged in the job search process. Good Luck!
