The legacy desktop OS is being threatened by all sides. Desktop virtualization (from Microsoft, Citrix, Red Hat), then of course there's cloud computing turning the browser into the OS. You can never count Microsoft out, of course, but will be interesting to see what the company looks like in 10, or even 5 years as its cash cow vanishes.
