Why didn't Google just get a recent fork of Firefox 3.0, and chrome it up with extensions and add-ons? Or just buy Opera and compile in its own extensions? Reinventing the wheel is a mug's game, unless you've got a whole new paradigm different from prior implementations. Maybe the betrayal of the Chinese dissidents indicates a deeper sickness?
