It's interesting that you chose to review native apps only. I figure that when you need a file often you have forgotten to add it to your phone anyway - at least this always happens in my case !
I use SMEStorage.com's Iphone client (www.thesmespace.com/smeutils/msmestorage) to combat this. I sync my docs to smestorage every night and if I need access to something on the move I just login and access it. The client is very fast, even thought I have over 10,000 files stored and it will even allow me to choose to view the file offline using data url's to store the file as a bookmark (although I noticed this is not good for files over about 1.5 mb).
I view this as a cloud type of service in which I don't need to have a native app and give some pre-thought to what I need.
