AT&T Worldwide Impose - Why?????
Why the **** does Apple's agreement with AT&T have to impose on EVERY other iPhone user World Wide even when they can never or will never use their services????
Our Company is based in Australia and we are frequent International Business Travellers - though not to the USA.
Not every Country has a Starbucks on every corner providing WIFI access. Even a decent 3G/Data connection is hard enough to find let alone a WIFI connection.
BUT when we do find a connection, any connection, we SHOULD be able to use 3G/Data VOIP if the Service Provider in that Country/Area is happy for us to do so. - And many ARE!!!!
But because of the stupid lock on the iPhone that prevents this due to Apple's Agreement with AT&T we are stopped from doing this. No other Mobile Phone Manufacturer that I know of locks their phones in this manner.
It is up to the user and service providers to decide how they want to ulilise Mobile Phones . NOT the Phone Manufacturer.
This HAS to be plan based. I am sick to death of Apple, AT&T and other US organisations failing to see that the good 'ol US of A is NOT the only place in the World.
If Apple wants to be an International Company it better start thinking Internationally.
Otherwise, fine go ahead an keep your products in the USA and restrict everyone there to your hearts content.
