Really, inasmuch as there are a continuous vein of new threats appearing daily, one can either buy into the vendor hype and instrument the crap out of their network, at considerable cost, or they can simply hone their internal communications and controls and get a firm grip on how they use their information technology resources. The latter is much, much more effective and cost-efficient plus it actually helps increase the bottom line.
