Come on, guys. Networkers CARE about the lower levels of OSI. You can't just mash them all together as in your 3-layer proposal. Networking hardware, drivers, IP, TCP, sockets -- these all matter to the real networker. Add application or user and you have 6 layers. It works, we use it, why change??
