Captain America wills indestructible shield to Colbert, who else?

Last week Captain America died and this week, Comedy Central's Stephen Colbert inherited his indestructible shield.

Watch the video here. That shield has undergone some shape changes over the years and according to Wikipedia was actually damaged at least three times.

Captain America lore has it that his shield is really his only weapon - a concave disk 2.5 feet in diameter, weighing 12 pounds. It is made of a unique Vibranium-Adimantium alloy.

One of the world's most beloved comic book super heroes Captain America who battled Hitler and a variety of other rogue characters apparently died at the hands of a sniper's bullet in the comic book on newsstands last week. Marvel Comics killed off Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, after 60 years of fighting the good fight. The super hero first appeared in 1941, just as the United States entered World War II. He was a symbol of American strength and resolve in fighting the Axis powers, and later Communism.
