What companies did we miss? Keep in mind we tried to contain the list to relatively new companies that have not been overexposed in the press and have at least some sort of network angle to their products. Let us know and if we get enough good suggestions we'll consider a follow-up piece.

Why no wireless players?
Accessing enterprise apps in a compelling way on smart phones is going to be every bit as important as the apps themselves...
Vaultus (www.vaultus.com) is a survivor of the Internet bubble circa 1999. It offers a compression technology that enables a meaningful mobile experience with the likes of Remedy, Oracle, Siebel, SAP, Saleslogix and Tivoli's InfoMan among some of the apps. It provides an "always-on" capability that sets it apart from the WAP offerings, and users can access upwards of 250,000 records on a single device.
Susquehana, Investcorp and Allen & Co. are the major backers... They have 77 customers to date, and they are just starting to take off. Check it out.
No disrespect meant to Vaultus, but....
we really tried to focus this article on newer companies, ones that launched in last year or so or only recently started shipping products (or are about to...).
One thing we are also interested in hearing about are companies, like Vaultus, that spin out of university research labs. We try to cover a lot of that sort of news in our Alpha Doggs blog on network research: http://www.networkworld.com/community/?q=alphadoggs

Vertica Systems
HP and Red Hat are Vertica partners. There are 20 Early Adopter end-user companies from the financial services, telecommunications, and Internet services industries.
Slingbox
This is the most significant tech and while a corporate application hasn't been identified yet it's just a matter of time before it is - if this company doesn't some other will.
ActionStep
This is a mature ERP Saas application that has been in production for 2 years and has hundreds of users in New Zealand and Australia.
Vertica
Vertica Systems technology has been available for years with other vendors. For example, Sybase IQ is a column based, read oriented database that returns queries 10 - 100 X faster than tradional RDBMS. It also has been on the market for about 10 years.
