I wasn’t among the few, the proud and the brave outside the Apple stores lining up for an iPhone, although thanks to my understanding and infinitely patient wife I was among the lucky few who scored their iPhone the first weekend it was out. The iPhone and I have been very happy together so far.
I thought I would share with you what I think is the most amazing feature of the iPhone, the REAL KILLER APP. Unlike the Treo or BlackBerry, The iPhone has a distinct advantage – no buttons. Why is this such a brilliant move on Apple’s part? What makes the iPhone such a complete paradigm shift in hand-held computing? This innovative move gives Apple the ability to change features of the iPhone with JUST a software update. Expensive hardware doesn’t even enter into the equation. This is a feature no other electronics maker has had the luxury of, as all other phone devices have physical buttons, they rely exclusively on hardware for their innovations. This is Apple’s giant paradigm shift relying on software to make their device new. They have thrown down the gauntlet for folks in the electronics business. From now on everyone else will have to follow suit. Now you aren't just stuck with the device you bought - it can be updated easily. The iPhone on its main screen has space for 4 more applications as there is room on the screen for four more buttons. It remains to be seen if Apple will add more programs through a software update or not. I think there is a good chance they will. I am looking forward to the ways my iPhone will grow with me and my business. Already I’ve experienced more freedom than I thought possible. As a tech consultant being able to remotely access my clients computers while on the go has opened up a whole new world for me… but more on that next time.

GREAT INSIGHT!
Why aren't more tech guys looking at the big picture like you are rather than nitpicking about bugs and patchable flaws?

Serious use of iPhone tech.
I have been wondering when I would hear from a 'power user' of the iPhone. I am considering buying one myself and I must admit I have some reservations. Have you attempted to change the battery as of yet? I buy 2 batteries with each phone I own because I do not like the downtime to charge the battery. If the phone dies durring the day I would like to continue working and not have to wat for a charge. I dislike car chargers because most of the time you are not in the car long enough for a full charge. Any insite?
Replacing the iPhone Battery
This is not an easy thing do as the battery is not easy to switch out. See the attached video for what you need to do if you want to replace the battery yourself.

Apple Fanboys...........
Yea that is all great except the simple fact that the keyboard on the IPhone LCD sucks! Here is a down to earth review of the IPhone and another device that has been around for a long time with a nicer price tag:

BTW anyone can modify their software to modify how they interact with the keys on the device, but if the device already has a qwerty type keyboard that wouldn't ever even be neccesary! I love the manner in which the Apple Fanboys will go to such great lengths to try and justify their purchase of an overly priced device that isn't at all bleeding edge..............

Well, for those of you with virgin eyes, I recommend you NOT check out the material at this link - it is about a Nokia phone so I can't say it's SPAM, but uses highly unprofessional (at least in my engineering shop) language and images. I'm sorry I opened it, and it really didn't contribute to the debate.
