With so many things getting promoted these days in the blogosphere, we're gonna run out of hype. The iPhone? So last month. Harry Potter? Please, the book is out and the new movie came in 2nd place to Chuck and Larry.
This week's hype is all about The Simpsons and its upcoming movie. Get ready for about 3x the amount of hype seen for the iPhone and Harry Potter combined. We've already tried the official "Create your Simpson Avatar" and have seen the Simpsons-designed 7-11 store photos. We wanted to try the very cool "Simpsonize Me" face recognition program that Burger King is offering, but the site is so popular that it can't handle the traffic (load balancing, anyone?).
Until we can get back to that site, I guess we just have to be happy watching Homer's Tonight Show monologue.
This is only the beginning, you realize.
For the record, I'm already predicting that lazy headline writers will write "Simpsons movie makes a lot of D'oh" on Monday.
4:24 p.m. update: Additional Simpsons-related content from the blogosphere includes:
* The Best Simpsons Band Cameos Ever
* The Most Obscure Simpson Characters
* The Sexiest Simpsons Ladies
Friday update:
Even Network World is in the act -- check out the Ten Industry Giants 'Simpsonized' slide show.
Monday, July 30 update: Well, that didn't take long. Enjoy the laziness of headline writers across the blogosphere:
* 'The Simpsons Movie' Earns Big D'oh!
* 'Simpsons' rakes in plenty of 'd'oh' at box office
* Simpsons rakes in d'oh
Network World's product test editor and one cool dude.

I knew you'd be all over this! We actually took place in the "Real Springfield" vote to have Springfield, Ohio as the site of the movie premier. Heidi is from there and was pushing hard!
