Cisco offers up safe mapping tool as open source

By Jim Duffy on Thu, 08/16/07 - 4:21pm.

LiquidMatrix Security Digest is reporting that Cisco has released Safe Mapping and Reporting Tool (SMART) as an open source software on Sourceforge.

SMART was released by Cisco's Critical Infrastructure Assurance Group and is described as a tool developed for control systems and SCADA network operators. SMART helps identity active network services while also visually charting the protocol exchanges between end nodes without generating any network traffic, according to the description that LiquidMatrix has included with its report.

This is the first we've come across an open source tool from Cisco. What are the others it has offered?
