The new Cisco CCIE lab exam fee is $1400 USD per attempt.
Cisco CCIE lab exams in Sydney will also be charged a 10% GST tax.
Cisco CCIE lab exams taken in Brussels by candidates without a Belgian VAT number will be charged a 21% VAT tax.
Also, please note that credit card approval must be obtained for the full amount including VAT tax for all candidates in Brussels, even if you have a valid VAT number.
Your account, however, will not be charged the tax amount once your VAT number is verified.
Thankfully, the new fee charged for the Cisco CCIE written exam increased by only 5% to $315 USD.

A bit more background on these recent price changes.
One, for most of these areas we haven't had a price adjustment since 1999.
Two, these price adjustments are being implemented to allow Cisco to make changes to the certification program. Examples of these improvements include new certifications available in more countries and locations across the globe, more frequent updates to certification exams, increased exam localization, improved exam security, and enhanced online services and program scalability. These are all items are customers and patners have told us they'd like to see made to the program.
