Microsoft announces VoIP phone pricing for SMBs

As Microsoft gears up for the big launch of its Unified Communications products next week in San Francisco, its VoIP news has begun to trickle out. ( Microsoft Subnet blogger Alex Lewis will be blogging from the launch. Contact him now if you want him to go check something out for you.)

Today, Microsoft released pricing for its SMB Response Point software bundled with twenty-phone systems from Quanta and D-Link. These will cost less than $5,500, the company said. A third phone vendor, Aastra Technologies, is planning on releasing Response Point systems in 2008. A complete package that includes a base unit with built-in analog telephone adapter (ATA) and secure gateway, plus four phones, will cost about $2,500, Microsoft said. Additional phones will be available for $159 each.

The D-Link VoiceCenter phone systems will be available in the fourth quarter of 2007. The VoiceCenter system will include a base unit, ATA and five phones for about $2,999, Microsoft said, Additional phone lines at $149. Plus Aastra will offer wireless handset options by next year.
