So - yet another example of how a degree gives you more salary....
But when are hiring managers going to realize that just having a degree or a certificate means NOTHING in many cases....
I can't tell you the number of times I've had to show somebody with their MCSE certificate how to manipulate Windows.... how often a "certified" or degreed individual knows practically NOTHING about real world applications of the applications they're supposed to know!!!!

A college degree never means
A college degree never means NOTHING, an accredited college degree in information systems or business is critical to offering an employer the ability to align business needs with IT, out of the box thinking, overall better communication, and better cross department project management skills to name a few.
A good combination of formal education, experience, and certifications is a must in this new world of business competition unless you want to stay at a tech level your entire career. Work Experience is number one than education and certifications, some certs such as a CCNA are good starts but are rather worthless by themselves.
Most people can easily learn how to administer a server or configure network equipment but overall college level education is never a waste.
Is a college degree always necessary to succeed? Of course not, but to say it means nothing is a completely ignorant statement.
