Take $10 to Ace Hardware and you can buy enough supplies to fix a couple dozen Cisco router faceplates.
Supply list:
SuperGlue
Pair of Dykes/Wire Snips
3 x Cheapo Plastic Wall Anchors
3 x Screws with Integrated Washer
ScrewDriver - A really short or really long one helps
Repair steps:
Remove the remaing plastic tabs from the holes on the faceplate so that the plastic anchors can fit in the holes unobstructed.
Insert the anchors and do a quick test fit of the faceplate to see how much of the anchors will need to be clipped off.
1/4 inch of anchor rising out of the faceplate hole is good for most devices.
With the anchors still in the faceplate holes (make sure they are pushed all the way down to the bottom of the hole), snip off the extraneous length of anchor.
Now take your superglue and apply it around the base of each of the exposed anchors.
Once the superglue has cured (like one minute) you can now screw the faceplate to the front of the device.
The screws go into the holes where the crappy plastic tabs used to come through.
Sometimes it can be a little tricky getting the screws started as the internal components get in the way of your screwdriver.
Once you get the screw started it should be no problem.
The faceplate will slide around a bit at first, so once you get close to tightening the screws make sure the faceplate is positioned where you want it to be.
That's it! As you can see in the picture below, this solution is very strong if done correctly.
The whole process takes 5-10 minutes and is quite simple.
