Dopplr is a really cool travel planning app and social network for frequent travellers and people on the conference circuit. So you can see who is where, when and hook up.

Dopplr is an online service for frequent travellers. It was created by an international team of world travellers. We saw a need for this kind of service, but discovered that no one was offering it. So we did it ourselves, and are delighted that other people are liking it as much as we do.

Microsoft is a global company with literally thousands of staff travelling to conferences, clients and events. With Dopplr currently running in limited beta, you normally need an invitation to get in. Well, the good news is that Microsoft is on the Dopplr 100. This is a list of 100 companies that can self register. So if you have a microsoft email address, your names on the list, proceed directly to the VIP area.

I swung by the Redmonk and Dopplr offices this afternoon to drop off a trixbox for James Governor and was great to see Matt Bidulph, CTO of Dopplr rolling out new features, including flickr integration. It was great to see.

James was also writing a blog, encouraging IBMers to sign up and take advantage of this great service. This then turned into a battle beween IBM and SUN, as to who would adopt this the most. So I thought I would put this out to Microsofties to keep the side up. Sign up here.
